The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a 4th generation multi-role fighter produced by Lockheed Martin. The Fighting Falcon provides a low-cost, high-performance weapon system for the United States. The F-16 was first introduced in 1978. The Fighting Falcon has flown missions in the Gulf War and the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. The Fighting Falcons is commonly known as the plane that multiple demonstrations teams fly. The Fighting Falcon is scheduled to remain in service until 2025 when the F-35 Lightning II will fill the F-16s role.
